Athletic College Old Boys Cricket Club (“ACOB”) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all players, volunteers, officials, and supporters, particularly children and young people participating in cricket.

The Club has zero tolerance for:

• Bullying

• Harassment

• Abuse

• Discrimination

• Neglect

• Inappropriate behavior towards children or vulnerable participants

ACOB is committed to:

• Promoting the wellbeing and safety of all participants

• Providing a safe environment for junior cricket

• Ensuring all members act respectfully and appropriately

• Responding seriously and promptly to safeguarding concerns

• Supporting a culture of inclusion, fairness, and respect

Expectations of Members & Volunteers

All coaches, managers, volunteers, committee members, players, and supporters are expected to:

• Follow the Club Code of Conduct

• Treat others with respect

• Maintain appropriate behavior and boundaries

• Promote safe and positive cricket experiences

• Report any concerns regarding the welfare or safety of a child

Reporting Concerns

Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately to the Club Safeguarding Lead or a Committee Member.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact New Zealand Police on 111.

• Safe participation guidelines for junior cricket

These documents are available upon request and are provided to Nelson Cricket as part of the Club’s Safe in Sport compliance requirements.
